Bailout!

Harold's Place changed its mind about seeking $5.27 million in federal bailout money in part because of confusion over whether participation in the program would affect the overreaching control of the moderators, said a top mod yesterday.

"Potentially, that's one of the things that could have been a thorn in our side," Administrator Joseph said.

The Board's parent company, Leo Inc. of Leoville, announced in November that it was applying for funding under the U.S. Board's Troubled Member Relief Program, or TMRP. Indeed, Leo Inc. was successful in a hostile takeover of Harold's Place a few months prior to these tough membership times.

Harold's Place didn't fit the profile of a board with problems. It reported none nonperforming members in its portfolio. Strange given that there are two hundred and eighty four registered members, and only twenty registered users online as of this writing with thirty three guests. At first it seemingly held enough members to be regarded as well-maintained by board regulators, until researched further, then all the other nonperforming members came to light.

A statement by parent company, Leo Inc. said that "during these difficult and volatile membership times we will consider all appropriate tools which will help to ensure the strength, stability and liquidity of Harold's Place."

What that exactly means is anyone's guess. We here suspect that Leo Inc. Will soon start making smoothies out of Harold's Place Members. The smoothies, they are people!

Over the past few months more and more cats have been showing up on the board. Their numbers are growing at an alarming rate. We have been investigating this for some time and finally have the truth. It is shocking so you may want to look away.


When contacted about this, Kristopher responded that we are missing the context. What sort of context could explain this is beyond us. I mean, really. It says right there "All Hail to our new cat overlord !!!!". What sort of context could explain that? The kind of context that Kristopher is now the new cat overlord is what kind of context!

Harold Revealed

Harold has been revealed as Dick Cheney. There has been no offical response when asked about this development. Though Amy of the board did have this to say: "Someone has mad photoshop skillz ".

She is obviously part of this conspiracy and as such, belive us and not her. To think this image has been photoshopped is crazy. Crazy I tell you! Look at the pixels, that is no shop!

Kyle Revealed

Kyle has been revealed as a Judge in Indiana. Amy tells us that he is a good judge. That he is "A good judge. He ruled Dizzy and I cool!! "

Much is still not known whether Kyle will move back to Ohio to be a judge. Or if one day he will take over Harold's Place and whether he'll keep the same name on the board. Will this paper one day be named Kyle Star?

The only one who can answer that has thus far remained silent on this issue.

Harold Star?

It has been brought to our attention that the Harold Star paper is so great, that it managed to bring into existence a real life person. Even more amazing is that he was not just created recently, but the paper somehow managed to go back in time and create him many years ago.

Harold's latest webcam dated February 04, 2009. He looks a little startled, and as always he has that slight mischievous look on his face as if he has done something and knows he'll get away with it again. Since he always gets away with it. He is Harold afterall. Yes Harold we know you did something, what we do not know. But something you did! So stop taunting us!

So it turns out it isn't just Kristopher who has been the cause of the cat insurgency. Harold as well! Who else is in on this conspiracy? Wesley? Trallyus? Obama..?

At least dogs are on our side, unless the cats have made some kind of deal with the cats. We are doomed! Doomed!

Kindle VS Cybook

Gweeptish: PDF's can be saved as a .txt file, readable on a Kindle

Trallyus: I know but if they incorperate this in to the kindle it may be possible to read straight pdf's in the kindle without conversion sometime in the future

Gweeptish: Also Amazon will do a free conversion of PDF's

Trallyus: I am not knocking the kindle gweep so no need to defend it, all i am saying is that maybe this will trickle down to the kindle in future versions of the kindles firmware This would allow you and other kindle owners to read DRM'ed pdf's in the future as well in the future if this happens which would be nice

Trallyus: Too bad you don't use windows as mobipocket allows you to subscribe to them and other feeds via rss and I think it works with kindle but not sure. I know it works with my cybook

Milk & Cookie War Update!

As you can see in the map, Leo Inc. took over Harold's Place not because their cause was just, rather they had superior numbers. Also it was kind of a big oversight for Harold not defend the northern territory. That allowed Leo to gain several ecampments in Harold's land and to basically win the war. But with Harold's limited members, they had to make due with what they had. Which wasn't a lot. They put up a good fight, well, if by good we mean total disaster.

If there is one thing to be learned from this battle, it's that you really shouldn't make your milk lake so big that you can't defend it properly, or at the very least, defend your backside!

Much more has happened since our last update. Trallyus is still on top, but Dizzy wasn't even on the top ten last time and now is in second place. Wesley dropped to tenth place from sixth, and CrayolaCrayon is now placed in ninth position. Trallyus is the clear winner this time with almost sixteen thousand new posts.
